How does he get this to work? It seems rather small. What do you think?

this uses the same principle as rocket heater and the thermal mass seating area i also note an ash pan at the bottom of the box as well

trying2hard has the smaller version which would do the same if added to a thermal mass

Thanks. I was wondering if it was an L or cut off J tube. I couldn't find the design on his site.

Sorry, it was early morning when I viewed this originally (not entirely awake).  Going back I see that it looks more like an L.

I will tell you one thing I would be very concerned with on his feed design, would be the danger of the burn climbing up the sticks far enough that as they drop beyond the holder they potentially could fall over and onto the floor.

Notice he does not show the stages of them feeding as they burn.

Very nice look, as well I have thought that after running my first rocket stove in a feed like he is using with no air controls, I got really tired of loading the stove every 35 to 40 minutes, now at that time I did not have any thermal mass I could take advantage.

Again, I like the way he used two d patterns against contrasting backgrounds to give a simple form an artsy look.

My first thought as well. Pretty simple to fix and would make a huge difference in safety.
