Hello from Ireland Empty
PostSubject: Hello from Ireland   Hello from Ireland EmptyFri Apr 04, 2014 7:59 pm

I have been watching YouTube clips of rocket stoves for some months now, and tried a few prototypes. My background is plumbing and farming, and I live in a rural area with plenty of trees, south west of Dublin. My interest in efficient wood burning is prompted by the fact that our house is/was heated by electric underfloor, very expensive to run. We have nearly gone trough this winter with only a stove in the living room, ducted into the hall. Downside has been; dust, dirt and volume of timber/briquetts, upside; heating cost a fraction of what it was. Looking forward to learning more.
Slainte,
Very Happy

welcome to the site

you should have fun with your build and being a plumber i presume that you will be considering the heating of water for central heating system as i would be doing the same however for now as youve found out the stove has been ample enough to keep everything warm and cosy

now you have to choose which version to build but id build a rocket burner as this reduces wood usage then consider the heating system using water by a different type of build

Unfortunately, without pictures and/or videos your stoves never happened!

Thanks chaps,
In my trade, I have fitted a few gasifying wood boilers with buffer tanks. Not too good on it tech, and slow on the keyboard. Have photos and video on my phone, and facebook, will try to post.
Nope, will try faq. scratch
