| Hi everybody, my name is Jon and I live in a small town in the Yukon Territory (Canada). I have viewed allot of the videos many of you have posted on youtube and as a result just completed a rocket stove made out of a 100 lb propane tank. I am using it to heat my small shop and so far I am happy with it but am not sure if it will replace the woodstove I had in there. Nice to have a forum to share ideas. | |

| Hi Jon I think there must be a "quarantine period" before you can post pictures, most forums have one. Jack | |

| Hello Northern, Welcome to the Forum. You found the best place on the net for sharing your RS pics and Ideas. By chance your small town located alone The Alaska Highway ? I have drove the highway a few times both summer and middle of winter, Very desolate, but beautiful country. |

Welcome Northern glad to have you with us. dkwelder, when I was a kid at twelve years old my dad drove the Alkan HWY when it was still three hundred miles of dirt road. It was an amazing adventure, cars and trucks looked like they had driven through a war zone as they passed us. We suffered a broken windshield and a broken side view mirror, my dad was smart enough to put cages over the headlights so they fared well. The trailer we were towing wound up breaking a leaf spring. It was pretty rough and stressful trip for my dad but we as kids enjoyed every minute of the adventure. | |

| I know this isn't the the right place on the Forum to be posting these Great Alaska Adventures. My very first trip to Alaska was on a 24 hr. notice, after our other friend wasn't able to drive my buddies other vehicle up for him. I best stop with my Story and open a new topic in the Lounge, to help keep for derailing the Welcome Wagon ! |

| Sorry I took so long to reply I didn't realize there were all these responses. I don't live along the Alaska highway but have travelled it lots. It has improved alot and is as good or better than a lot of other highways down south now. Only issue is sometimes long distances with no open gas stations in the winter. Jon | |
