In this stove https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2FCesiO-AA I used two air intake entrances for primary air each made out of 3 inch pipe. The secondary air entrances are made out of 2 inch pipe. The combustion chamber section area is 15 cm X 15 cm. Both primary and secondary air intakes, are well above the needs for this stove.

I am all for GO LARGE, or go home ! :lol!:  Its better to start out big with the means of being able to adjust the air flow down. Much harder to do when you have your RS built and you then discover you need more air whether its intake air or SA into your riser tube. The ability of being able to meter your air flow into your RS is going to help with how efficient  it runs.

Where is it best to locate the secondary air intake, on any rocket stove.
Like halfway down the burn chamber, or way down the burn chamber etc.

I have a simple " Propane tank " build, 4" heavy steel tube for burn chamber and riser,
riser insulated with rock wool ( I had some left over ) alll made from old junk I had laying around.

Currently no secondary air, but think I should add it. where is best location.

Half way or at the top of the combustion chamber, that is the place where the stove is the hottest. You want your secondary air as hot as possible.

i think that you should locate the exit of the secondary air right next to the elbow where the riser begin.
you can see it in the pic i made, using sketchup, today im starting to build.

I will post this here now since I posted it on one of Potty's videos. Not sure if it will help anyone. Right now the rmh testing is being done on adding air directly in front of the double vortex on a batch box. I asked Peter what he thought about adding secondary air to the riser and he stated that he had tried it but the results showed it slowed down the vortex. He believes that adding air before the turbulence will give a better result.

Ok, so I haven't tried it but I am only passing on this info since I asked him. Lol.
