firebricks reusage Empty
PostSubject: firebricks reusage    firebricks reusage EmptySat Jan 31, 2015 8:36 am

normally with any brick id just clean the cement off and reuse again

however ive never come across the reusage of firebrick before as i normally fit them and thats it

this time i recognised them and thought i could use them for a system or for other usages so i took the fireplace apart slowly saving what i could of the bricks
however i would normally just clean them off with a grinder the firebricks are the new sort but weigh quite a bit
as they are 6" x 3" x 1" 1/4 but have a curved shape on the ends of some of them

but im still unsure the best way to clean them off sounds silly as im a builder anyway

Hi gadily,

Due to " ahem " human error,
I found the need to clean off my cemented firebrick,

I removed most of the cement with a masonry disk in my 4 1/2 inch angle grinder,
The swapped the disk with a rotary wire cup, to remove the last little bit of cement

Maybe there is a product that can dissolve cement out there?
