Hello from Canada

Hello to all forum members around the world.  I recently discovered this forum after viewing many on line videos about stove building.  I knew that I wanted to build a stove and after much research I have concluded that the rocket stoves are among the most advanced and offer many advantages such as clean burn and efficient heat extraction.

Having viewed all of Ppotty's stove videos and many videos from other stove builders, it is a real pleasure to find so many of the stove builders around the world collaborating on this forum.  Your have been and will continue to be an inspiration!

A little about myself, I live in southern Ontario near Toronto.  We have a farm (off grid) in upstate New York near Buffalo, an area know for heavy snowfall and cold winters.   I have three wood stoves at the farm and that's where I'll use the stove or stoves that result from my experiments.

I also have limited fabricating and welding equipment and I have access to free refractory materials and ceramic insulation.

Thanks for your kind welcome. Have watched several of your videos and have followed with great interest your efforts to build a down drafting rocket stove. I hope you will not abandon the quest entirely as I think it has real merit and would offer significant advantage particularly for sawdust burning stoves.

Sawdust burning is one area of interest for me and I look forward to experimenting with a few ideas of my own.

My three current stoves are factory built, two of them being antiques. My experience with these stoves and how inefficient they are has started me on this quest for new and better ways of burning wood for heat.

having the forums has also brought in other new members here that dont use youtube to upload there videos so you will find plenty more builds and tests that have been done

anyway you may not be able to post pics but it does give you chance to view the forums and see what others have built up and also ask questions upon the forums
