Subject: Some door latches. Mon Jun 15, 2015 1:06 pm
Here's a sweet little Carr-Lane toggle clamp that made an excellent door latch for my first stove. They are available in Stainless Steel also.
This is a Harbor Freight vise grip C-Clamp I welded to my newest stove. They have smaller versions, very reasonably priced, and if you value the time it takes making something from scratch, then they are very affordable. Sorry, I couldn't get these pics to post right side up, even if I rotate them upside down in my file first. I don't think the problem is me, can we fix them gadily?
If one needs a door lid that holds in multiple positions, then this is pretty simple to do:
BTW, those old brake rotors and their cooling slots admit air into the "venturi" riser system I am playing with. It's a 3 1/2" riser with a 5" stainless outer jacket that has holes through to the riser to hopefully introduce air into it. So far it may be lowering my heat exchanger temps, but more tests are needed. See my "Venturi Riser" topic elsewhere.
