I want to make a heater version with a barrel. I was wondering if anyone tried using a terracota sewer drain pipe for the heat riser from the burn box?

this is the terracota system
I can suggest 6 ways to do this
firebrick stainless steel perlite cement mix or vermiculite and cement mix cement mix using silica sand and an additive to the mix cobb type build but may need to be rebuilt with usage if too thin as cobbs use a mass build steel can be used but it will degrade fast due to the high heat
Thank you for your input. I am going to fire brick for the burn area and just a piece of terracota sewer pipe for the stand pipe under the drum. I can see it feel apart as the fire box. The sewer pipe is much thicker than the chimney pipe. Do you think it would hold up under this condition?

if you have got it for free and you think it will take the heat of the rocket stove by all means use it
with the barrel you should be fine but i wouldnt advise upon using a vortex within the sewer pipe as i suspect it will shatter with the heat produced from it
if your paying for it id build it the firebrick way or even fire cement perlite mix or vermiculite mix
