parts - Cast Refractory Liner/Parts Empty
PostSubject: Cast Refractory Liner/Parts   parts - Cast Refractory Liner/Parts EmptyMon Apr 28, 2014 6:28 am

Tim Keith brought this up and I started this new thread to stop hijacking the other one. There is an older thread where you guys are talking about casting a riser. What I would like to do is small light parts or a liner. Stuff to play around with and break down when finished. I don't even know if that is possible. I don't want anything bulky or heavy. This is strictly for outdoors.

Has anyone been casting lately?

depends on what your casting easy substance is clay does what you want it to do another is lime and sand instead of cement, with lime you can build with it then if wrong you can take it back down squash it up and reuse it again so handy for brick building its what college uses when teaching students how to brick lay

as goes for easy casting break apart and reuse i dont think that you can

I think you could use castable refractory inside a bolt together steel shell. Use plenty of stove sealant on the joints. I think it might leak. I've never seen a break-down wood heater.

I have been kicking around a break down stove idea for quite sometime now, soon will be having it made.

Will release a video when it is completed.

Small compact, portable and will all assemble from pieces that will fit into the main burn chamber.

It has been done before, I have a slight twist on the one I am developing right now.
