since we dry logs this should be a good idea to dry them much quicker and be able to store them nearly dry

Storing dry firewood is very important.  I started storing my firewood in a 16' x 16' military frame tent.  It worked ok for a couple of years until the canvas covering rotted out.  The tent frame was in good condition, so I took the canvas off and installed a polycarbonate roof and sides. The front and back of the woodshed are screened in for good air flow.  I installed more roofing supports and frame reinforcements to handle heavy snow loads.  It's been working out well for drying and storing firewood.  On a sunny Spring day, the temperature inside is 25 F higher than outside (with the screens covered).  I can split wood with the electric log splitter inside if the weather is bad.
