First off I need an Emoticon for an old Hippy
I turn 62 this November 2014.
Tony is my name and I grew up with a chip heater (drum with a coil of iron pipe -flue at back and you used small bits of wood to get it roaring then just turned on the tank tap and stood back as the first burst was the steam bath) for hot water baths.
I now live where the winter temp very rarely dips below 4C so there is no great call for Fire.
But I am building an Aquaponics Green House and the fish are Tropical so have to keep the water at as close to 25c as possible as they stop feeding below 18c so a mass heater along 1 wall of the pond is needed.
Looking at good old You Tube up popped Rocket Stoves so looked around over the last few days and decided to join here as there are a few major things I feel I can get out there about what I did 18 years ago when I lived in a nasty winter place on top of a Range, and cut my fuel bill by 1/2 to 3/4's and had to open the far window to let all the heat out with a fire that could just boil a jug.
So I will over the weekend make a couple of videos to explain and also show a 1meter across Pizza Oven that when set off heats the whole back area of our house for the night...too hot for Pizza in Summer here. (
