Hi everyone, howsit going ?
Joe here from Ireland.
I like to experiment and mess about with fire, solar energy, hydro power and all good things like that in my spare time, which there is never enough of.
It's really great to find this forum, I found a youtube link yesterday from 'tryin2hard' titled 'Free Gas Flow Rocket Stove' and became a wee bit excited
(I can't post the youtube link yet as I'm only new here...)
I built something very much like this about 18 months ago (strangely about the same time that t2h posted that on youtube) with scrap stainless steel and ceramic tiles, inspired also by Igor Kuznestov's writings on Free Gas Movement.
The proportions were different, but the principle was the same as t2h's idea.
It was some contraption to look at, but it worked very well. With a small amount of fuel (the square tube was only 3"x3" and the riser 15" tall - yes, I know, that won't work), it was clean and gave off impressive heat compared to larger j-tubes I've built.
Then all my fun experiments had to take the ironic back-burner for very dull reasons.
But happy days, spare time is back and I'm about to start planning a new build of this and I'll be recording whatever I can as I go.
